   FIDE Ratings  

(Men's chess, ratings)  Monday; July 4th, 2011.  [more] 

The new FIDE Rating List is out, (read the CB article); and GM Magnus Carlsen has re-taken the pole position as the World's Top-rated player. World Champ: GM Vishy Anand is number two. GM Levon Aronian is three, former electric prodigy GM S. Karjakin is number four, and {former} World Champion (GM) Vladimir Kramnik is number five. V. Ivanchuk returns to the fold as # 6. (USA's H. Nakamura pops in at # 9!) "Shak" is #10. 

In Women's chess, Judit Polgar (2699) is by far the #1 female player. #2 is India's Humpy Koneru, (2614). #3 is the Chinese player, Yifan Hou. (2575)
