  •   The 44th U.S.S.R. (URS) Championship was held in Moscow, Russia in 1976.  (Google this topic.) 

  •   It was a "Who's Who?" of chess, practically every name here is a legend.  

  •   GM A. Karpov won this tournament going away (12.0 from 17)  ... as you can see from the above cross-table. 

  •   Even his one loss - to GM E. Geller - was an enjoyable, fantastic and brilliant encounter.
